KUALA LUMPUR –
PETRONAS, through its corporate social responsibility arm Yayasan PETRONAS, is contributing hand sanitisers and dispensers to 104 schools, benefiting approximately 68,000 students, to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
Yayasan PETRONAS will be distributing the items to primary and secondary schools in Johor,
Kedah, Labuan, Melaka, Perak, Sabah, Sarawak and Terengganu, through the respective
State Education Departments, as part of its ongoing commitment towards enriching the lives
of communities around PETRONAS’ areas of operations.
Through this contributIon, Yayasan PETRONAS hopes to encourage the practice of proper
hand hygiene amongst students, teachers, staff as well as visitors to the schools.
Yayasan PETRONAS’ Chief Executive Officer Lita Osman said: “Yayasan PETRONAS
believes in the importance of ensuring good health and well-being for all. We hope that with
our contribution of hand sanitisers and dispensers, we are able to reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19 among the students in line with the government’s target of achieving zero new cases of infection.

“This effort is also in line with PETRONAS’ Sustainability Agenda and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 that focuses on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all,” she added.
This initiative is part of Yayasan PETRONAS’ contribution of critical medical equipment and
supplies worth RM20 million to aid the country’s hospitals, healthcare front-liners, and highrisk groups in mitigating the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
